Terpel launches bunkering operations in Chile

Colombian firm begins supplying marine fuel in central Chile.

Colombian oil company and bunker supplier Organización Terpel S.A (Terpel) has revealed that it has expanded its bunkering operations into Chile.

Terpel commenced operations earlier this week and is now able to supply marine fuel by barge at ports in central Chile.

Sourcing its product from ENAP's 97,650 barrels-per-day Aconcagua Refinery near Valparaiso, Terpel is supplying 380-centistoke(cst) fuel oil, 180-cst and marine gasoil (MGO).

The company has chartered the Doña Carmela, which has a capacity of 2,300 tonnes of intermediate fuel oil and 400 tonnes of marine gasoil (MGO).

Terpel also operates as a marine fuel and lubricants supplier in Colombia. The company, which supplies a wide range of products including aviation fuel, automotive and industrial lubricants, is stronger in the distillates field than in fuel oil and has concentrated its activities in Cartagena and Barranquilla.
