ZIM selects Slavyanka as refuelling port

Supplier reveals the 'decisive factor' that resulted in Zim choosing Russian port.

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, operator of one of the world's largest containership fleets, has included the port of Slavyanka, located in Primorsky Territory, in its call schedule for refuelling. Previously, the company's containerships used to bunker at the port of Vostochny.

In a statement, Russian bunker supplier Tranzit-DV explained that the "decisive factor" that led to Zim selecting Slavyanka was its "attractive conditions: the cost of port fees, the price of bunker fuel, speed and quality of the service, and the availability of offshore transshipment of containers".

The first arrival of ZIM's containership, Zim Haifa, at Slavyanka was on July 15. Containers were offloaded at the Thor offshore transshipment terminal.

According to Tranzit-DV, upon completion of the unloading operation, a representative of ZIM sent a letter of thanks to the Russian firm's agency department, which read: "We are very pleased with your work with our first ship, Zim Haifa, yesterday and today in Slavyanka. We are confident that this is a very good start of our cooperation."

Tranzit-DV Group Co., Ltd is a holding company providing a range of services, which includes bunkering, shipping, and the sale and delivery of oil products, natural gas and coal.

The holding comprises a managing company, Tranzit-DV Group, and eight companies: North East Shipping Company, Trading House Transit-DV, Vostokbunker, Khasan Service DV LLC, Magadan-Transit DV LLC, Kamchatka Transit-DV LLC, Vladrybsnab and Our North Fund.
