Chinese shipbuilder Changhong International has delivered the 11,500-teu LNG dual-fuel container ship MSC Migsan to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) 205 days ahead of the contractual delivery date.
The vessel was handed over by video link with all relevant parties attending the ceremony remotely. The delivery followed the handover of sister ship MSC Zivana on 2 April.
According to Changhong International, the delivery of the two vessels within a week highlights the yard’s construction efficiency and project execution capabilities, while also underlining its focus on meeting commitments and creating added value for customers.
With the handover of MSC Migsan, Changhong International has now completed delivery of all 10 vessels in the 11,500-teu LNG dual-fuel series built for MSC.
The series was jointly developed and designed by CIMC ORIC and Changhong International. The vessels have an overall length of 335 metres, a breadth of 45.6 metres and a depth of 25 metres, with a design speed of 20 knots.
Changhong International said it will use the project's completion as a basis for further reviewing construction experience, refining construction procedures, and developing new technical methods, with the aim of supporting high-quality delivery on future projects and strengthening the standing of the Changhong brand in the high-end shipbuilding market.
