Singapore recorded a new historic high in trailing 12-month (TTM) bunker calls in July 2026, according to data published by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and analysed by Bunker Index, with the rolling annual figure climbing to 43,356 — the highest level in the port's history.

The July 2026 TTM reading edged up by 24 calls, or 0.06%, from the 43,332 recorded in the TTM period ending June 2026. The figure has risen steadily since a trough of 41,217 in April 2025, adding more than 2,100 calls over the subsequent 15 months to reach its current record level.

The TTM series — which smooths out month-to-month volatility by aggregating vessel calls for bunkers over a rolling 12-month window — provides one of the cleaner indicators of underlying demand trends at the port. The unbroken upward run since mid-2025 suggests a sustained recovery in bunker call traffic at the hub.

On a monthly basis, bunker calls came in at 3,675 — up 57 calls, or 1.58%, from 3,618 in June 2026, and up 24 calls compared with 3,651 recorded in July 2025. Monthly call volumes have remained broadly within the 3,400–3,800 range over the past two years, with the steady accumulation of calls across consecutive months driving the TTM metric to its record level.

The steady rise in TTM calls contrasts with a softer picture in recent volumetric bunker sales data. Singapore’s trailing three-month (T3M) bunker sales remained below 14 million tonnes for a fourth consecutive month in July 2026, with T3M volumes for May–July 2026 standing at 13.95 million tonnes — down 3% compared with the equivalent period a year earlier.

Total monthly bunker sales at Singapore in July 2026 came in at 4.73 million tonnes on a preliminary basis, according to MPA data, down 3.8% year-on-year from 4.92 million tonnes, though up modestly from 4.67 million tonnes the previous month.
