Bunker Index (BIX) price summary: week 29


Lowest end-of-week figure since January 30 as global bunker prices fall by $7.15 per tonne between July 10 and July 17.



The Bunker Index (BIX) - the daily average worldwide bunker price quoted in US$ per metric tonne - fell to its lowest end of week level since January on July 17, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global price fell by $7.15, or 1.4 percent, to $498.36 per tonne on July 17 compared to $505.51 per tonne on July 10.

It is the fifth end-of-week decline in a row and the eighth in the last nine weeks.

Friday's price is also the lowest end-of-week figure in 24 weeks - since January 30.
