BIX MGO price summary: week 41


A summary of weekly global marine gas oil (MGO) prices.



The Bunker Index MGO (BIX MGO) - the worldwide daily marine gas oil (MGO) average quoted in US$ per metric tonne - recorded its biggest week-on-week increase in five weeks on October 9, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global MGO price rose by $7.59 per tonne, or 1.2 percent, to $635.92 per tonne on Friday compared with $628.33 per tonne on October 2.

It is the fourth week-on-week increase in six weeks. It follows a period a 11 consecutive price drops between week 25 and week 35 (June 19 and August 28).

During the same 7-day period - between October 2 and October 9 - the Intercontinental Exchange's (ICE) Gas Oil price jumped $29.50, or 6.5 percent, from to $452.25 to $481.75 per tonne.
