Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has delivered the cruise ship Mein Schiff Flow to TUI Cruises at its Monfalcone shipyard in Italy, marking the completion of a two-vessel order for the joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises.

The vessel, which has a gross tonnage of approximately 160,000 and a passenger capacity of around 4,000, is the second of two InTUItion-class ships built by Fincantieri for TUI Cruises. Its sister ship, Mein Schiff Relax, was the first of the class.

Mein Schiff Flow is designed for dual-fuel operation, running on LNG as its primary fuel, with marine gas oil (MGO) as an alternative. It has also been prepared to use low-emission alternative fuels, including bio-LNG and e-LNG.

The vessel is equipped with catalytic converters compliant with Euro 6 standards, a steam turbine that recovers residual heat from the diesel generators, and an electrical shore-power connection. These features, Fincantieri notes, will enable virtually emission-free operations while the vessel is berthed in port — which accounts for approximately 40% of its operational time.

The delivery ceremony at Monfalcone was attended by regional officials including the Prefect of Gorizia, Ester Fedullo, and the Mayor of Monfalcone, Luca Fasan, alongside senior representatives from both companies. These included Wybcke Meier, chief executive of TUI Cruises; Biagio Mazzotta, chairman of Fincantieri; and Pierroberto Folgiero, chief executive and managing director of Fincantieri.

Folgiero remarked: "With the delivery of Mein Schiff Flow, we celebrate a new milestone in our collaboration with TUI Cruises and reaffirm the strategic role of the Monfalcone shipyard as a center of excellence in global shipbuilding. Here, innovation, sustainability, and industrial expertise are transformed every day into productive capacity and international competitiveness."

The delivery follows a contract signed in September 2025 for two additional InTUItion-class vessels — sister ships to Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow — scheduled for delivery in 2031 and 2032 respectively.

The Monfalcone shipyard, where more than 45 cruise ships have been built to date, employs approximately 6,500 people and serves as the group’s main shipyard.
