Island Petroleum Ltd, a subsidiary of Island Oil (Holdings) Ltd, has announced that it is extending its coverage in Israel with the addition of physical supply services at Ashkelon anchorage and Ashdod OPL (off port limits).

At both supply locations, Island Petroleum says it is offering ISO 8217:2010-compliant RMG 380, RME 180 and DMA-specification marine gasoil (MGO) with a maximum sulphur content of 0.1 percent.

The 6,352-deadweight-tonne (dwt) Olvia is to be used to perform deliveries.

The 2011-built oil tanker is double hulled and equipped with a boiler, heating coils, flow meters, fenders, a bow thruster as well as a boom system with tow boat and skimmer.

The vessel has a storage capacity of 5,000 metric tonnes for fuel oil and 750 tonnes for marine gas oil (MGO). Pumping rates are 500 cubic metres (cbm) per hour and 200 cbm per hour for fuel oil and MGO, respectively.

Cyprus-based Island Petroleum notes that the Ashkelon anchorage service is available for ships calling for bunkers only or waiting for orders, whilst the Ashdod OPL location is cited as being 31°47.7' N, 034°31.51 E.

Island Petroleum launched its Israel supply operation in December 2015 with a delivery service at the port of Haifa and outer roads that was largely focused on in-port supplies via the 1316-dwt oil tanker Lerrix. This was later extended in October 2017 with the addition of the 2,434-dwt Thalia for anchorage deliveries to accommodate bunkers-only calls.
