The end-of-week daily global average for marine gas oil (MGO), the
Bunker Index MGO (BIX MGO), rose for the fifth consecutive week in week 51, according to Bunker Index price data.
The BIX MGO ended the week at $594.31 per tonne - up $6.08, or 1.03 percent, on the $588.23-per-tonne price recorded on 16th December. It is the highest end-of-week price in 13 months - since 20th November 2015.
During the same seven-day period, the daily ICE Gasoil front-month settlement price dipped $6.00 per tonne, or 1.22 percent, to $484.25 per tonne.
Weekly averages
The global weekly MGO average rose $4.79, or 0.81 percent, to $592.87 per tonne in week 51, up from $588.08 per tonne seven days earlier. It is the highest average since the week ending 27th November 2015 ($595.76 per tonne).
During the same period, the ICE Gasoil front-month settlement weekly average increased by $0.40, or 0.08 percent, to $487.25 per tonne. It is the highest weekly average in almost 17 months - since 31st July 2015 ($492.80 per tonne).
The BIX MGO is the daily global average price for all MGO assessment prices published on the Bunker Index website.
