Bunker Holding confirms appointment

Kristian Kent Hughes will be responsible for managing, prioritising and developing projects across the group.

Bunker Holding - part of United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC) group and the parent company of a group of companies that includes A/S Dan-Bunkering Ltd and Trumf Bunker A/S - has confirmed the appointment of Kristian Kent Hughes [pictured] as Manager - Operations & Projects.

In a statement, Bunker Holding explained that Kent will be responsible for managing, prioritising and developing projects across the group independently and in cooperation with Soren Holl, Group COO of Bunker Holding.

His primary place of work will be Bunker Holding's head office in Middelfart, Denmark. However, he will also be required to carry out a lot of travelling to Bunker Holding companies across the globe, Bunker Holding said.

Kent holds a bachelor's degree in international business and a master's degree in applied economics and finance from Copenhagen Business School. Parts of his education were completed in the United Kingdom and the United States.

In his previous position, Hughes was employed as Global Alliance Manager at OW Bunker and Trading, where he was responsible for establishing partnerships with physical suppliers in strategically important ports. He was also involved in M&A activities, turnarounds and supporting the establishment of a new office.

Kent also previously worked for Boston Consulting Group, where he worked as a management consultant mainly covering shipping. Among his duties were analysis, project management, strategy, optimisation and implementation.

At Maersk In-house Consulting, he worked in several of Maersk's business units within the area of strategy, planning, analysis and change management.

"His project management experience, versatility and highly relevant business insight make Kristian a strong fit for the position in Group Operations. He will be a valuable asset in the development of new and existing projects," Soren Holl said.
