Marine fuel seller Dan-Bunkering has highlighted the 20-week paid parental leave policy it has in place for all employees, regardless of gender, role, or location.
In a recent online post, the Denmark-based firm shared testimonials from three employees who have utilised the policy, highlighting their experiences balancing parenthood with careers in the marine fuels sector.
Andrei Dobrita, a fuel supplier at Dan-Bunkering Europe, described the policy as "an amazing chance to slow down, be present, and connect deeply with my family." He noted that while on leave, he occasionally maintains contact with colleagues, explaining: "Our business segment thrives on presence, so I occasionally check in with my colleagues. Partly for work, partly just to confirm that adult conversations still exist!"
Ebin Thomas John, who works in trade finance and operations at Dan-Bunkering Dubai, said the 20-week leave allowed him to be present for his daughter's early milestones. He commented: "I am grateful that Dan-Bunkering not only offers this policy, but actively encourages fathers like me to embrace it."
Stefan Sørensen, a key account manager at Dan-Bunkering, emphasised the support he received from his team and management during his leave. He stated: "Thanks to the incredible support from my team and management, I was able to be truly present with my family."
The company said the parental leave policy forms part of broader work environment initiatives designed to support employee welfare.
Dan-Bunkering operates across multiple global locations, with two offices in Denmark, in addition to branches in Monaco, Houston, New York, Dubai, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore and Sydney.
The policy applies uniformly across the company's international operations, with employees able to access the full 20-week entitlement regardless of their position within the organisation or geographic location.
