The average price of 380 centistoke (cSt) fuel oil in Fujairah rose by $2 per tonne, or 0.3 percent, during the month of May, according to Bunker Index price data.

The 380 cSt average at the Middle East's leading bunker port increased to $596 per tonne, up from $594 per tonne in April, during a month that saw Fujairah's best-selling fuel grade record a $25 low-high price range of $585 to $610 per tonne.

It is only the first time since January that the 380 cst average has risen. Prior to this, the monthly average had fallen $23 since reaching $617 at the start of the year.

The May price is the second lowest since July 2013. Fujairah's 380 cSt average has now remained below $600 for two consecutive months for the first time since August 2013.
