Three new storage tanks in the Caribbean

Bunker firm completes the construction of three storage tanks.

Caribbean bunker supplier Curoil N.V. has completed the construction of three storage tanks in the island of Curaçao, local newspaper Curaçao Chronicle reports.

The new tanks will be used for the storage of low vanadium fuel and low sulphur diesel. Curoil has now eight storage tanks. The company's existing tanks are used for the storage of intermediate fuel oil and marine gasoil.

The green light to begin construction of the three tanks was given in March 2012 by the former government, headed by Gerrit Schotte.

"It is no longer necessary to lease tanks for the storage of this type of diesel and, because a larger volume is available, this product can be purchased at a lower price," Curoil director Yamil Lasten is quoted as saying.
