The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has announced that Laura DiBella, chair of the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), will serve as the industry keynote speaker at the IBIA Convention 2026, scheduled to take place in New York from 10-12 November 2026.

DiBella is expected to offer a perspective on US maritime policy, regulation, and market direction, with a focus on the role of shipping and marine fuels in what IBIA describes as a “rapidly evolving global landscape”.

"At a time of energy transition, geopolitical change, and increasing supply chain pressures, this is a keynote not to be missed," IBIA added.

The three-day event is designed to bring together industry figures and stakeholders from across the global bunker and shipping sectors for networking, discussion and analysis of trends and challenges facing the industry.

The convention is held annually and serves as a forum for the bunker industry to convene and exchange views on regulatory, commercial and operational developments shaping the sector.

The FMC is an independent federal agency responsible for regulating the US international ocean transportation system. DiBella was confirmed as chair of the commission earlier this year.

Further event details and registration are available here.
