WTI vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of WTI crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price decreased at a higher rate than WTI crude in March 2013, according to Bunker Index price data

The WTI settlement average fell by $0.39 per barrel, or 0.42 percent, to $92.98 per barrel in the month of March. However, during the same period, the BIX global bunker average declined by $27.77 per tonne, or 3.3 percent, to $816.96 per tonne.

Between March 2012 and March 2013, the WTI monthly average fell by $13.27 per barrel, or 12.5 percent, from $106.25 to $92.98 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average declined by $85.18 per tonne, or 9.4 percent, from $902.14 to $816.96 per tonne.
