Brent vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of Brent crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price decreased at a lower rate than Brent crude in March 2013, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Brent settlement average fell by $6.49 per barrel, or 5.59 percent, to $109.54 per barrel in the month of March. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average declined by $27.77 per tonne, or 3.3 percent, to $816.96 per tonne.

Between December 2012 and March 2013, the Brent monthly average rose by $0.34 per barrel, or 0.31 percent, from $109.20 to $109.54 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average increased by $12.92 per tonne, or 1.6 percent, from $804.04 to $816.96 per tonne.
