CEPSA hosts fuel forums

Supplier hosts meetings related to the quality and specifications of marine fuels.

Cepsa Marine Fuels, S.A. (CMF), has announced that it hosted two separate meetings earlier this month related to the quality and specifications of marine fuels. The forums were held between May 10th and May 13th.

On May 10th and 11th meeting nº 64 of WG7 belonging to the International Council on Combustion Engines (CIMAC) took place. The most important activities covered by this group consist of the preparation of practical technical guidelines reflecting the technical improvements available and matters currently considered by the sector to be of particular importance: the availability of low-sulphur fuels, ignition quality, fuel properties when entering the engine, biofuels, contaminants and giltration.

May 12th and 13th saw meeting nº 35 of TC28 SC4 WG6 of the ISO organization. This working group has started working on the preliminary stages of the review of the ISO 8217:2010 standard, and its contribution to the improvement of onboard safety conditions, the mitigation of risks for individuals, the abatement of environmental impacts, and the increased performance of internal combustion engines.

During these working sessions, CMF - the commercial branch of CEPSA for marine fuels - hosted a dinner event.

"CEPSA is proud of and committed to its active participation in these fora that keep watch over the development of better and more responsible practices in safety and quality, improving products specifications and efficiency," CMF said in a statement.
