Dalian crude oil terminal is launched

New 450,000-tonne crude oil terminal has commenced operations this week.

China's new 450,000-tonne crude oil terminal, located at the port of Dalian, has begun operating this week.

The new facility, which was launched on August 16th and is the largest oil terminal in the country, is capable of unloading 19 million tonnes of oil per year.

The port of Dalian, which is operated by Dalian Port (PDA) Corporation Ltd, has taken its annual oil offloading capacity total 80 million tonnes, equivalent to 1.6 million barrels per day.

Dalian currently has two oil refining facilities - Sinopec's 410,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) Dalian Petrochemical Refinery and the 200,000 bpd West Pacific Petrochemical Corp. Refinery.

Located in Liaoning province, Dalian is the largest multi-purpose port in northeast China and the second largest container transshipment hub in mainland China.
