World Fuel, the commercial brand of World Kinect, is looking to hire a bunker trader that will be based in Singapore and focused on trading across Korea and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
According to the job posting, the position calls for a commercially minded individual with three or more years of experience in commodity sales, trading, or a related commercial role. Exposure to marine fuels, bunkering, or broader energy and commodities markets is described as preferred but not essential.
The ability to communicate in Korean — both written and spoken — is a requirement, given regular interaction with Korean-speaking customers and stakeholders, whilst proficiency in Chinese or Japanese is listed as an advantage.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage fuel purchase requirements from existing clients, develop new business within those accounts, and prospect new customers. The role also encompasses market intelligence gathering, pricing support, credit risk monitoring, and end-to-end transaction coordination — including supplier liaison, delivery execution, and claims resolution.
