IFO 380 Index jumps $73.78 in May


Average 380-cst price matches WTI crude with price rise of 24 percent.

The IFO 380 Index (AGBP) - Bunker Index's Average Global Bunker Price (AGBP) for 380-centistoke (cst) fuel - jumped $73.78 during the month of May, a rise of 24 percent.

The fuel grade recorded the largest price increase last month compared to 180-cst, MDO and MGO, with price gains for 380-cst exactly matching those seen in the crude oil markets.

Front month WTI crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) also rose by 24 percent in May from $53.20 per barrel on May 1st to $66.31 per barrel on May 29th.
