Average global price up $66 since May 1st


Global Bunker Index rises further as average skyrockets almost $12.



The Global Bunker Index (AGBP) - Bunker Index's average price for all grades of bunker fuel worldwide - has now risen $66.56 per tonne since the beginning of May following another day of significant price increases today.

The average global bunker price skyrocketed $11.74 per tonne as bunker prices continued to rise in the majority of ports across the globe.

The Global Bunker Index increased to $449.74 per tonne and is now $19.84 higher than a week ago following four consecutive days of price gains.

All four grade categories recorded increases of over $10.00 per tonne, with the MDO Index - the average price for marine diesel oil (MDO) worldwide - achieving the largest price rise of $15.76 to $521.00 per tonne.

Meanwhile, the MGO Index rose by $12.68 to $565.06 per tonne, whilst the IFO 380 Index and the IFO 180 Index jumped $11.15 and $10.85 to $379.97 and $397.54 per tonne respectively.
