Shell is recruiting for a bunker account manager in Singapore to develop its marine fuels business across East, the Middle East and South Africa ports.

The Singapore-based post will involve building customer relationships to support spot and term bunker sales, covering both ex-wharf and delivered fuel.

The successful candidate will work with Shell’s global trading department and Downstream South Africa supply teams, and contribute to barge and sales strategies for assigned ports.

Key tasks include monitoring regional bunker fuel supply and demand, tracking vessel movements and analysing shipping patterns to support sales planning. The account manager will also handle commercial claims, customer complaints, regulatory communications and specification updates.

Shell is seeking applicants with sales and account management skills. Bunker operations or sales experience is listed as highly preferred.

The post calls for someone who can work independently, manage a dedicated customer portfolio, and coordinate with internal teams across trading, sales, supply, and distribution.

The job advertisement also calls for knowledge of trading strategies, bunker delivery activities and documentation, local regulations and market dynamics. Bilingual skills are needed in some regions.

Shell was Singapore's largest physical bunker supplier by volume in 2020 and a top 10 supplier between 2012 and 2023. The energy major has since dropped out of the top 10 ranking over the last two calendar years, according to data by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

Singapore is also listed among Shell's LNG bunkering locations.
