The global Bunker Index (BIX) monthly average fell for the first time in five months in July, according to Bunker Index price data.
July's monthly average decreased by $0.42, or 0.1 percent, to $414.82 per tonne, down from the previous month's average of 415.24 per tonne.
In both dollar and percentage terms, the $0.42 and 0.1 percent decrease is the least significant price change since April 2015. Despite the dip, July's worldwide bunker average is still the second-highest since November.
The BIX is the daily global average price for all the 700-plus assessment prices published on the site, covering over 300 ports and the major fuel grades IFO 380, IFO 180, MDO, and MGO. Every month, a dollar average for all the month's assessment prices is also calculated.
