WTI vs BIX comparison in June


Analysis of WTI crude vs the BIX global bunker price during the month of June.



The BIX monthly average rose at a higher percentage rate than WTI crude in June, according to Bunker Index (BIX) and New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) price data.

The WTI settlement average was up $1.9 per barrel, or 4.05 percent, to $48.85 per barrel in June. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average rose $23.20 per tonne, or 5.92 percent, to $415.24 per tonne.

Over the last 12 months - between June 2015 and June 2016 - the WTI monthly average has fallen $11.01 per barrel, or 18.39 percent, from $59.86 to $48.85 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has declined by $120.28 per tonne, or 22.46 percent, from $535.52 to $415.20 per tonne.
