Petrobras Bunkering has announced it is now offering very-low-sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) and low-sulphur marine gasoil (LSMGO) supply via barge at the Port of Suape, in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco, for berthed vessels.
In an email to customers, the Brazilian state-controlled energy company said the move represents an expansion of its bunkering supply network in Brazil, adding that the service became operational following receipt of final operational licences — after which the company completed two barge deliveries to its own vessels.
Vessels calling at Suape should note that barge deliveries are available exclusively for berthed vessels. The port does not have an inner anchorage, and off-port-limits (OPL) anchorage operations are not currently supported by the new service.
The Port of Suape is a deep-water port located approximately 40 kilometres south of Recife and serves as a key gateway for container, bulk and tanker traffic along Brazil’s north-eastern coast.
