Singapore MGO vs ICE Gas Oil in April


Analysis of Singapore marine gas oil (MGO) and ICE Gas Oil prices last month.



The average price of marine gas oil (MGO) at the port of Singapore rose at a more significant rate than ICE Gas Oil during the month of April, according to Bunker Index and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) price data.

The ICE Gas Oil settlement average increased by $15.44 per tonne, or 4.34 percent, to $370.75 per tonne in April. During the same period, the Singapore MGO average was up $19.00 per tonne, or 5.5 percent, to $363 per tonne.

Between April 2015 and April 2016, both indicators have decreased at virtually the same percentage rate: the monthly MGO average in Singapore is down $185 per tonne, or 33.76 percent, from $548 to $363 per tonne, whilst the ICE Gas Oil settlement average is lower by $189.93 per tonne, or 33.87 percent, from $560.68 to $370.75 per tonne.
