The average price of 380 centistoke (cSt) fuel oil in Fujairah decreased by $57, or 18.5 percent, during the month of August, according to Bunker Index price data.

The 380 cSt average at the Middle East's leading bunker port fell to $251 per tonne, down from $308 per tonne in July, during a month that saw Fujairah's best-selling fuel grade record an $88 low-to-high price range of $197 to $285 per tonne.

The $251-per-tonne average is the lowest since March 2009 and the second-lowest since December 2008. The $57 drop is the most significant since January.
