The Bunker Index (BIX) - the daily average worldwide bunker price quoted in US$ per metric tonne - fell to its lowest end-of-week level of the year so far on August 28, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global price was lower by $7.84, or 1.8 percent, at $432.03 per tonne on August 28 compared with $439.87 per tonne on August 21.

It is the eleventh end-of-week decrease in a row and the fourteenth in the last fifteen weeks.

The week-on-week decline comes despite a $10.84 increase on Friday, which was the first daily rise in 13 trading days - since August 11.
