Lowest monthly global bunker average since December 2010


Global bunker average records its biggest two-month decline since June 2012.



The Bunker Index (BIX) global monthly average fell to its lowest level since December 2010 during the month of November, according to Bunker Index price data.

The worldwide bunker average plummeted $50.57, or 7.22 percent, to $649.76 per tonne last month, down from $700.33 per tonne in October. It is the second most significant monthly decline since June 2012.

Over the last two months alone, the global average has fallen $104.06, or 13.8 percent, from $753.82 to $649.76 per tonne - the biggest two-month drop since June 2012.

In comparison with previous years, the November 2014 average is $132.23 lower than the $781.99 per tonne average price recorded in November 2013 and $160.33 below the $810.09 per tonne figure seen in November 2012.
