Stephen Hoare replaces Anna Trant, who resigned from IBIA in June.

The International Bunkering Industry Association (IBIA) has appointed Stephen Hoare as its new events manager at its Southampton office. The role involves developing the association's conferences, seminars and dinner.

The association currently represents companies across the marine fuel supply chain including bunker suppliers, buyers, traders and other service providers. IBIA also helps develop and endorses industry methods, practices and documentation. It holds regular events including the IBIA Dinner in London during International Petroleum Week, an annual conference and numerous seminar s and workshops.

Welcoming Stephen Hoare’s appointment, IBIA Chief Executive Peter Hall said: "Stephen has a strong professional background in developing events. He has great international experience and will help build our portfolio of professional events around the world. Our next big conference takes place in Hamburg during the shipping industry's gathering for Eisbeinessen this November and I greatly look forward to working with Stephen."

Stephen Hoare previously ran his own professional event management company and worked in events related roles for AIG – First Advice, MGM Assurance and HL Partnership.

He replaces Anna Trant who resigned in June to take up a role as function manager for Paignton Zoo in Devon (UK).
