Bunker price volatility down in March


Sustained period of low global bunker price volatility continues.



Bunker price volatility declined by $2.37 per tonne during the month of March, according to Bunker Index price data.

In a comparison of low-high differentials for the daily BIX global average, March recorded a low-high differential of $12.44 per tonne, down from 14.81 in February.

The lowest daily global bunker average last month was $789.12 per tonne recorded on March 25, whilst the highest price was $801.56 per tonne on March 4.

Bunker price volatility has now remained below $20 for seven consecutive months. It is the first time that this has occurred since Bunker Index began analysing global bunker price volatility data in April 2009.
