Bunker industry specialist Murray Bishop [pictured] has been appointed as GAC Bunker Fuels' Business Development Manager for Europe, the Americas and Africa.

London-based Bishop joins the GAC Bunker Fuels management team, where he will play a key role in supporting its ongoing growth and expansion strategy.

Global Director Nicholas Browne said: "Murray is well known in our business and is already considered a trusted advisor to the superyacht sector. His operational knowledge of the bunkering sector, in-depth understanding of our customers' needs and global experience with the GAC Group will enable him to make an immediate and tangible contribution to our business, not only in the superyacht sector, but also to existing GAC Bunker Fuels' customers throughout the regions for which he is responsible.

"Our business has now grown to a size that demands a regional management team. Murray will work alongside Ashan Silva, who joined us in Dubai last month, responsible for the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Indian Subcontinent. You can expect to hear further news of our expanding operations in the coming months."

Commenting on its bunker business operation, the company said: "GAC Bunker Fuels uses the group's strong market relationships, physical contacts and local knowledge to streamline the management of marine fuels and lubricants enquiries. Its hallmark is smooth, speedy coordination of quality IFO, MGO, MDO and lubricants from carefully selected suppliers who meet internationally approved standards."

The company's headquarters is in Dubai, UAE, and it covers all regions and time zones via its offices in the USA, UK, Norway, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Singapore. It became ISO 9001 certified for bunker and lubricant trading in March 2013.
