GAC strengthens UAE team with new appointments

Bunker firm appoints two bunker traders as part of its regional expansion plan.

GAC Bunker Fuels Limited, part of global shipping, marine and logistics services provider GAC, has appointed two new UAE-based bunker traders as part of its regional expansion plan.

Georgia Paravalou will trade and broker marine fuels in her new role. An economics and management graduate, she joins GAC Bunker Fuels from AP&A. Ltd, where she worked as a shipbroker, coordinated the marketing department and developed business in the UK and South China.

Anthony Inglis is charged with expanding GAC's bunker business in the Middle East and developing bunkering operations in Sub-Saharan Africa. He joined GAC Bunker Fuels from Weatherford International, where he served as a Procurement and Logistics Co-ordinator for the same market.

"We are delighted to welcome Georgia and Anthony to GAC Bunker Fuels," said Nicholas Browne, Global Director of GAC Bunker Fuels. "The relocation of our headquarters was driven by a desire to offer our marine fuel customers the full range of services offered by the GAC Group. In particular, for vessel owners and operators in the Middle East, where GAC has a proud history as a trusted provider of quality shipping services."

"We are looking forward to fully integrating our business within the GAC Group for the benefit of all of our customers, taking full advantage of Dubai's strengths as a strategic hub for the shipping industry."

Browne, now based in Dubai, also confirmed the promotion of Andy Boichat to Senior Bunker Trader in the London office, adding that the UK office will continue to expand in partnership with GAC Shipping UK Ltd., to offer an integrated procurement solution to existing oil & gas, tanker and dry bulk customers.
