NWE average up $46 in April


Bunker prices up 6.1 percent so far this month in North West Europe.



The Bunker Index NWE (BIX NWE) - Bunker Index's average bunker price for ports in North West Europe - increased by $9.69 to $798.55 today as bunker prices surged in the region following further gains in the price of crude.

Bunker prices in North West Europe have already risen $46.21 per tonne, or 6.1 percent, over the six trading days in April since closing on the last day of March at $752.34 per tonne.

The Bunker Index NWE 380 CST (BIX NWE 380 CST) - the average price for 380-centistoke in North West Europe - jumped $7.04 today to $653.00 per tonne and the BIX NWE 180 CST - the average 180-cst price in the region - rose by $7.23 to $678.08 per tonne.

The BIX NWE 380 CST has increased by $50.00 per tonne, or 8.2 percent, since reaching $613.00 per tonne on March 31st. The BIX NWE 180 CST has climbed $41.96, or 6.6 percent, since ending last month at $636.12.

The Bunker Index NWE MDO (BIX NWE MDO) rose today by $12.34 to $967.67 per tonne and the Bunker Index NWE MGO (BIX NWE MGO) increased by $13.43 to $1049.50 per tonne.

Since the start of the month, the BIX NWE MDO has climbed $36.96, or 4.0 percent, whilst the BIX NWE MGO is up $47.17, or 4.7 percent.
