Molgas Energy Group has announced that its marine business unit has been granted an operating licence to supply LNG to vessels at the Port of Bilbao through truck-to-ship (TTS) operations, valid for a period of 10 years.

The company, which operates across Spanish ports, said in a LinkedIn post that the licence will strengthen its ability to develop further LNG supply opportunities in Spain.

Separately, Molgas explained that it participated in the presentation of a new LNG supply tender model at Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. The company took part as a member of the Gasnam working group specialising in TTS operations, contributing to the development of the sector’s regulatory framework.

Molgas noted that the event was attended by the Secretary General for Air and Maritime Transport, the President of State Ports, and the Director General of the Merchant Marine.

"One thing that defines Molgas is that we do not watch the maritime energy transition from the sidelines," the Spanish firm said, adding: "We actively contribute to it, working alongside key stakeholders to make a more efficient and future-ready supply model possible."

Headquartered in Madrid, Molgas Energy Group operates downstream LNG and renewable gases across Europe, providing a range of services, including ship-to-ship, truck-to-ship and terminal-to-ship operations.
