Risler team heads to Shanghai Expo

Argentinian bunker supplier is specially selected to attend the world famous Shanghai event.

Argentinian bunker supplier Risler S.A has informed Bunker Index that it will be heading to the Shanghai World Expo at the beginning of next month after having been specially selected to attend the world famous event.

Risler, which has its head office in Rosario in addition to operating an office in Buenos Aires, has been selected by the local government as one of twenty companies to represent the city of Rosario.

Rosario, a sister city of Shanghai, signed a participation contract in November 2009 with the Shanghai 2010 World Expo Executive Committee. It is the first time that an Argentinian city has been selected to attend the prestigious event.

Rosario will stage a week-long showcase of its revamp of the banks of the Parana River in the Urban Best Practices Area of the Shanghai World Expo from September 6-12.

The project targets a riverbank area stretching 17 kilometers along Parana, which integrates tourism, leisure, catering and cultural functions.

The Parana River development showcases the city's transformation over a decade and its urban planning and management expertise. The project was implemented gradually, with the city's industrial heart and shipping base moving from the Parana River's north shore to the south.

Risler will be located at the Fideicomiso Rosario Expo Shanghai 2010 stand in the Urban Best Practices Area.

The Rosario display falls into the third category of UBPA showcase, which are shorter than the UBPA's pavilions and built exhibitions and mainly use forums, activities and performances to showcase cities' ideas.

Rosario will use lectures, reports, seminars, videos and exhibits to display its innovation and practices in urban development. Risler Managing Director Alejandro Risler is also due to give a presentation during the week-long showcase.
