Amsterdam-based energy brokerage Olyx is recruiting a full-time broker to help build and scale its renewable marine fuels desk, according to a job posting published by the firm.

The role, based at the company's Amsterdam office, will require the successful candidate to facilitate spot and term bunker transactions across a client base that includes shipowners, operators, bunker suppliers, traders and terminals.

According to the posting, the appointee will be expected to monitor pricing trends, spreads and arbitrage opportunities across major supply hubs including the EU and North Sea, the Mediterranean, and Asia, covering products such as biofuels, methanol and bio-LNG.

Regulatory awareness forms a notable part of the role's requirements. Olyx states that the candidate should maintain a solid understanding of frameworks including FuelEU Maritime, the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) for maritime, and the IMO greenhouse gas (GHG) strategy.

The company is seeking candidates with two to six years of experience in similar roles, with a preference for those with a background in the marine industry. A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, finance, engineering or a related field is required, along with fluency in English. Proficiency in an additional European language — Dutch, Spanish or Swedish — is listed as an advantage.

Olyx says the position offers a competitive salary, profit-sharing opportunities and a range of workplace benefits at its Amsterdam office.
