Seaside LNG has announced an expanded C-suite team as the Houston-based business looks to build on its LNG bunkering platform in North America.

In a statement, Seaside LNG revealed that the new executive line-up is intended to guide its next stage of growth as interest in liquefied natural gas as a marine fuel continues to develop across the region.

Douglas Shanda remains chief executive officer. Seaside LNG stated that he brings more than 30 years of energy-sector experience, including previous roles at Cheniere Energy and as president and chief executive of Mexico Pacific Limited.

Jason Owens has been appointed chief operating officer. He will oversee project execution, construction planning, safety and system completions, drawing on more than 20 years of experience in large-scale oil and gas infrastructure.

Andrew Bonnarens has joined as chief financial officer, taking responsibility for financial leadership and capital strategy to support further fleet growth and expansion across North America.

Bryan Frey has been named chief commercial officer. Seaside LNG noted that he brings more than 30 years of domestic and international energy-sector experience, including two decades in global LNG, with previous roles at Freeport LNG, Macquarie Energy, Marathon Oil and El Paso Global LNG.

Chief executive Douglas Shanda said: “We have built the infrastructure, assembled the fleet, and now we have the leadership team to match our ambition to grow our established platform. As LNG demand across the shipping industry reaches historic levels, Seaside is the only fully integrated platform on the continent capable of delivering LNG from liquefaction to vessel — safely, reliably, at scale and on schedule.”

Seaside LNG describes itself as an integrated North American LNG bunkering platform with shoreside liquefaction, storage and Jones Act-compliant delivery capability. The business is headquartered in Houston and has operations centred on JAX LNG in Jacksonville, Florida, where it owns 50% of the small-scale LNG production facility.
