Inchcape Shipping Services said on 7 January that it has opened two new offices in Indonesia, located in the port areas of Merak and Dumai, where it will provide fuel operations in addition to other port services.

The expansion aims to establish a presence in two industrial port clusters, each handling approximately 150 port calls annually. The locations serve bulk and tanker operations supporting energy, industrial, and plantation sectors.

The Merak port area, led by Haroen Al Rasyid, covers ports Cigading, Ciwandan, and Anyer. According to the company, the area handles liquid bulk and dry bulk shipping activities, including chemicals, iron ore, limestone, steelmaking raw materials, refined petroleum products, ethylene, and bulk wheat.

The Dumai port area, managed by Ahmad Firdaus, is located along the Malacca Strait and includes ports Lubuk Gaung and Pelintung. The ports mainly handle crude palm oil, palm oil products, fuel oil, petroleum products, and chemicals for export and domestic cargo movements.

Both offices will provide port agency services, customs clearance, P&I matters, crew logistics services, husbandry services, bunkering and fuel operations, and protective agency.

Galih Wicaksono, general manager for Indonesia, commented: "Our mission is clear: to be close to our customers and present where their operations take place. The opening of these offices in Merak and Dumai strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional service and local expertise in two of Indonesia's most critical port clusters."

The Merak office is located at Jl. Arga Bromo A6 No. 23, Kotasari, Cilegon, Banten, while the Dumai office is at Jl. Teratai No.165 Dumai Kota, Kota Dumai, Riau.

With the addition of these offices and its existing Jakarta office, Inchcape now operates three locations in Indonesia.

Inchcape Shipping Services operates over 250 offices across more than 60 countries. The company provides port agency and marine services to owners, charterers, and ship managers in the oil and gas, cruise, container, and bulk commodity sectors, as well as naval, government, and intergovernmental organizations.
