China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) reports that two 65,000-tonne vessels were named earlier this week.

A naming ceremony was held on 27 July for two methanol dual-fuel bulk carriers — H2554 and H2555 — built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding (Huangpu Wenchong) and China Shipbuilding Trading (CSTC) for Lemissoler Navigation, Cyprus.

The vessels were designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI), a subsidiary of CSSC. According to CSSC, the project represents the first time Huangpu Wenchong has built a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier.

China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) is China’s state‑owned shipbuilding conglomerate and one of the world’s largest shipbuilders. CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding is a major Guangzhou‑based shipyard under CSSC, specialising in container feeders, bulk carriers, dredgers, gas carriers, offshore and special‑purpose vessels for both commercial and government customers.
