Bunker seller and Borealis Group subsidiary Aurora Marine Fuels (AMF) has announced the appointment of senior bunker trader Panagiotis Bastas as the head of its Athens office.
Bastas joins AMF from PMG Holding, where he had been serving as a bunker trader since 2021, based at the company's Greece office, also located in the capital.
Aurora said the addition of Bastas was "particularly crucial in light of AMF's expanding operations, notably its physical supply capabilities in Ghana, where AMF has established a significant foothold".
"[His] leadership at the helm of AMF's Greek office is a step towards integrating seasoned expertise with the group's vast resources, setting the stage for groundbreaking advancements in the marine fuel market," the bunker firm added.
Bastas has been tasked with using his industry knowledge and strategic insights to drive growth, enhance operational efficiencies and foster relationships within the maritime community.
The newly apointed head of AMF's Greece office remarked: "My objective is clear: to not just meet, but exceed our clients' expectations while setting new standards in service and operational excellence."
The Borealis Group, with various companies under its umbrella — including Aurora Offshore, Boden Denizcilik, Borealis Denizcilik, Borealis Maritime and Australs Maritime — has a mixed fleet of approximately 80 vessels.
