Navig8 receives first 49,000-dwt ship with scrubber


First of eight newbuilds to have exhaust gas cleaning system installed.

Navig8 Product 2020, an international shipping company focused on the transportation of clean petroleum products, has announced that it has taken delivery of the Navig8 Grace.

The 49,000-deadweight-tonne (dwt) medium-range (MR) product tanker has been fitted with an exhaust gas scrubber system.

Built by Jiangsu-based New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., it is the first of eight 49,000-dwt ships from the company's newbuilding programme, with all of the vessels set to be fitted with scrubbers.

The Navig8 PGrace will be entered into and operated in Navig8 Group's MR Tanker commercial pool.

Earlier this month, Navig8 Product 2020 also took delivery of the Navig8 Passion - the sixth of eight 110,600-dwt scrubber-fitted ships.
