Longitude Engineering has introduced a new platform support vessel (PSV) concept, the IMT Isca G-Flex, aimed at combining operational adaptability with improved fuel efficiency for offshore operators.

The design forms part of the IMT Isca series and builds on the company’s IMT-984 G-Class platform, which has already seen operational use. According to Longitude Engineering, the new concept has been developed to respond to varying offshore requirements while maintaining a standardised, proven hull foundation.

The G-Flex design allows for multiple propulsion and thruster configurations, giving owners flexibility in how vessels are specified and deployed. Accommodation can also be adjusted, with layouts supporting up to 12 passengers depending on operational needs.

Longitude Engineering said the vessel has been engineered with efficiency in mind, incorporating a hull and propulsion concept intended to reduce fuel consumption. The design also supports the use of alternative fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil, and can be configured with battery systems to support hybrid operations.

In addition, the vessel is designed to meet IMO Tier III nitrogen oxide emissions standards, reflecting tightening environmental requirements in offshore operations.

The company noted that the G-Flex concept is intended to provide a balance between customisation and proven design, allowing owners to tailor vessels to specific use cases while relying on established performance characteristics.
