The global Bunker Index (BIX) monthly average fell for the second consective month in August, according to Bunker Index price data.

August's monthly average decreased by $6.84, or 1.6 percent, to $407.98 per tonne, down from the previous month's figure of $414.82 per tonne.

The $407.98 worldwide average is the lowest in three months, whilst the decline recorded in August is the most significant since January.

The BIX is the daily global average price for all the 700-plus assessment prices published on the site, covering over 300 ports and the major fuel grades IFO 380, IFO 180, MDO, and MGO. Every month, a dollar average for all the month's assessment prices is calculated.
