The average monthly Brent crude price rose at a more significant rate than the global bunker price during the month of March, according to Bunker Index (BIX) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) price data.

The Brent settlement average increased by $6.29 per barrel, or 18.76 percent, to $39.82 per barrel in March. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was up $13.26 per tonne, or 3.91 percent, to $352.05 per tonne.

Since March 2015, the Brent monthly average has fallen $17.12 per barrel, or 30.0 percent, from $56.94 to $39.82 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has declined by $160.70 per tonne, or 31.3 percent, from $512.75 to $352.05 per tonne.
