Rotterdam 380 cSt monthly average at lowest level since March '09


The 380 cSt average at Europe's leading bunker port records its second biggest monthly decline in more than six years.



The 380 centistoke (cSt) average at Europe's leading bunker port fell to its lowest level since March 2009 during the month of January, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Rotterdam 380 cSt average declined by $82, or 25.2 percent, to $244 per tonne this month, down from $326 per tonne in December.

The $82 price decrease is the second most significant since November 2008, when the 380 cSt average nosedived $163, or 42.4 percent, to $221 per tonne.

In comparison with the corresponding month in 2014, the January 2015 average is $323 lower. It is $366 below the $610 per tonne price recorded in January 2013.
