The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has issued a final reminder for nominations to its 2026 board elections, with the deadline set for Friday, 12 December 2025. The association called on members to submit completed nomination forms ahead of the closing date.
IBIA, which represents companies involved in the marine fuel supply chain, holds regular board elections to determine its governance structure. The board oversees the association's activities and strategic direction within the bunker industry.
IBIA said four board positions are available in the upcoming election cycle. Members proposing candidates are encouraged to review the responsibilities of board members and the relevant sections of the association’s bye-laws before submitting nominations.
Prospective nominees must consent to stand, be paid-up IBIA members, and be proposed and seconded by other paid-up members. Completed forms must be submitted both as a signed PDF and in Word format.
The association typically draws board members from across its membership base, which includes fuel suppliers, traders and other stakeholders in the marine fuels sector.
Interested parties have until the end of business on 12 December to submit their nominations for consideration in the 2026 board elections.
The IBIA board plays a role in guiding the association's policy positions and industry engagement as the maritime sector navigates the transition to lower-carbon fuels and adapts to evolving regulatory requirements.
