The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has appointed Frank Dahan, Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing and Global Fuel Strategy at CSL Group Inc., as Chair of its Regional Board - Americas. His appointment takes effect immediately.

Dahan brings almost three decades of experience across the marine transportation, oil and energy sectors. At CSL Group Inc., he coordinates the organisation’s Strategic Sourcing function and Global Fuel Desk, managing its largest spend category and leading initiatives in areas such as cost optimisation, risk management, procurement digitisation, and marine-fuel strategy.

IBIA noted that Dahan has played a leading role in the maritime energy transition, overseeing one of the sector’s most extensive B100 biofuel trials since 2019. This work has contributed to the development of ISO 8217:2024 and supported policy discussions with Transport Canada, the US Coast Guard and the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Dahan holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from the John Molson School of Business.

He succeeds Adrian Tolson, who has completed his term as Regional Chair and will continue to serve on the IBIA Global Board. IBIA said the transition reflects its approach of rotating leadership roles across regional boards to encourage broad participation from its membership.

IBIA’s Executive Director, Alexander Prokopakis, said, "I am pleased to welcome Frank into this role. It is encouraging to see a representative from the buying community taking the lead in the Americas, strengthening the balance of perspectives within our regional leadership. I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to build IBIA's presence and initiatives across the region."
