Island Oil has added the bunkering vessel Ruby to its fleet, following a Greek Orthodox blessing ceremony held on board on 10 December. The company said the event honoured maritime tradition and marked the vessel’s official entry into service.

The newly acquired vessel is the sister ship to Island Oil’s existing bunkering vessel Astraia, and the firm noted that the addition enhances both capability and flexibility in meeting customer requirements for marine fuel deliveries.

According to Island Oil, members of the crew and company staff attended the ceremony. As part of her arrival in Cyprus, Ruby passed in front of the company’s seafront offices, a moment the firm described as especially meaningful for its team.

The company said the expansion of its fleet underlines its ongoing commitment to reliability, safety and service quality in its bunkering operations.

Headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, Island Oil (Holdings) Limited operates as a group of companies primarily dealing with the supply and trading of marine fuels. The group operates physical supply stations in Cyprus, Romania, and Israel, and has trading desks in Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Piraeus, Singapore and Seoul.
