Brent vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of Brent crude vs the BIX global bunker price.

The average global bunker price decreased at a lower rate than Brent crude during the month of January, according to Bunker Index (BIX) price data.

The Brent settlement average declined by $3.65 per barrel, or 3.30 percent, to $107.05 per barrel in the month of January. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was down $5.72 per tonne, or 0.7 percent, to $787.85 per tonne.

Since January 2013, the Brent monthly average has fallen by $5.23 per barrel, or 4.66 percent, from $112.28 to $107.05 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has decreased by $35.57 per tonne, or 4.32 percent, from $823.42 to $787.85 per tonne.
